Customs and Holiday Traditions

This week we had fun cooking with Ms. Celia at Whole Foods! During our field trip, we learned how to make delicious Hanukkah Latkes, traditional potatoes pancakes. Latkes are made from shredded potatoes, eggs, onions and salt. We also learned about the miracle of the menorah oil in the Jewish Temple during Ms. Celia’s story book reading.

We know from experience that cooking leads to a lot of new learning opportunities and we learned a lot! While cutting, cleaning, peeling and grating potatoes we worked on our fine motor skills. We even worked on our social skills while taking turns and exercising our manners at the cooking table. Thank you Ms. Celia and Happy Holidays to everyone!
