National CACFP Week March 14-21, 2021!

This past week ended with an email notification from the Virginia Department of Health and the Early Childhood Foundation to say from a random drawing of all the CACFP Week Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram posts- we were selected to receive a $100 recognition of our participation in the week-long celebration. We hope you are excited about this as we are! National CACFP Week is an annual event held the first week of spring. The week is a national education and information campaign sponsored by the National CACFP Sponsors Association. The purpose of the campaign is to raise awareness of how the USDA’s Child and Adult Care Food Program works to combat hunger and the funding of healthy foods served. The early years are learning years! During the early years, children form beliefs about what foods they like and don’t like. We know the importance of developing healthy eating habits during these early years. Throughout this past celebratory week, we had fun sharing information about the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) meal and ways we support healthy eating.
