Summer Camp Final Week Summary: August 27-31

On Monday, the kiddos had a play date with Humza. Our day was filled with games, bubbles, back yard fun and crafts. During circle time we practiced introducing ourselves to new friends in a group setting. Also during circle time we read “Jack and the Bean Stalk”.

On Tuesday we welcomed to the Nguyen Family and the return of Ms. Tasneem! On Tuesday, Ms. Tasneem treated our kids to a funtastic circle time where she read the book “Mouse’s First Day of School” and extended the story with a follow up art activity. On the playground the kiddos moved, played, and had fun while engaged in a game of “Catch 1-2-3″.

Our wonderful Wednesday contained a full schedule with various learning engagement. The program had a variety of fun learning activities to include circle times, outdoor playtime with discussion about the temperature. At Richard Byrd Library, Ms. Vicki delivered an early literacy program entitled, “I can do it“ that introduced the kiddos to the things that they can do for themselves. We also loved the “Look at me! I can do it” craft.

On Thursday, the older kiddos had the opportunity to work on their gross motor skills on the playground (lots of big body play)  while the younger kiddos worked and played on their fine motor sorting, colors, and math skills. Ms. Tasneem delivered another engaging circle time. Seeing each child participating at his or her own developmental pace was wonderful to witness!

On our fantastic Friday we introduced the kiddos to a new painting technique – painting with flowers. Each child produced two art pieces: one with one flower in one color instructions (without mixing colors). The children did not even realize that they were engaged in art exploration and scientific discoveries. Our summer provided an array of adventures. Definitely a summer to remember! We are thankful for your participation and support!
